The new temple is situated adjoining the Romanesque Santa Maria de Mijaran’s Sanctuary remains.
The project is settled by a fragmented and irregular geometry that looks for a certain harmony with the rests, at the same time that it provides us with a clear access from the east. The irregular geometry of the plan is emphasized by a cover defined by only one inclined plane that causes a variable skyline of the whole,
The interior space is illuminated through little overtures in the south front that give us a soft and indirect light, whereas some big overtures in the north front relate the new space and delimit at the same time the Romanesque remains.
With regard to the construction, we have opted for a front with local smooth stone that contrasts with the bumpy texture of the ruins stones.
